5 Ways to Transition your Home from Summer to Fall

Goodbye summer and HELLO Fall! 🍂🍁 We love Fall here at Studio 321B for the warmer colours, soft textures and all the c o z y feels. Not all decor is meant for year round - as the season changes, so should your design. But it doesn't have to be anything drastic (like swapping your sofa)! Making simple changes can make a HUGE impact on your space.

Learn more on how to change your space from Summer to Fall with these easy steps. Let us know what your favourite way is in the comments!

Please note: we've added links of our favourite products in this blog post. These are not commissionable links. We share these products as we genuinely love them.

1. Switch out decorative pillows

One of our favourite (and easy) ways to add warm fall tones & textures to your space is through switching out your decorative pillow covers. We love using neutral hues, velvets, forest greens and rust hues.

2. Change up your rug

Redesign your space without the major renovation by switching out your area rug, which we, here at Studio 321B like to call floor art. If you have an outdoor/indoor rug, simply transfer it from your outdoor space to the indoors, or add a super cozy Berber rug.

3. Add a Fall Wreath

Wreaths are not only for the holidays! Simply adding one above your fireplace or on your front door can add a nice spruce of fall hues! Acorns, dried foliage, fall leaves make great fall wreaths! Or opt for one with berries to use throughout the holidays as well!

4. Add Seasonal Plants to your Doorstep

Don't forget about your outdoor space when redecorating for the new season! Fall is the season for pumpkin picking and autumn decorative plants. One of our favourite plants to add on our front steps are Chrysanthemums (Mums)! Aren't they d r e a m y?! ☁️

5. Freshen the Air

An easy way to make your entire interior space feel extra cozy and warm is by changing the scent in the air. Studies have shown that aromas are crucial for our daily experiences and can work as physical and physiological therapy (source: National Library of Medicine). Have a favourite candle or evergreen essential oil? This is the time to take it out!
